Rev James Lee

Founding Pastor, Bread of Life Church Singapore • Marketplace Leader, Gatekeepers Singapore

Pastor James Lee is the founding pastor of Bread of Life Church Singapore and a respected marketplace leader whose ministry bridges both the church and the professional spheres. He is widely recognised for his fatherly leadership, pastoral wisdom, and deep commitment to seeing individuals and organisations transformed by biblical truth and Spirit-led living.

Pastor James founded Bread of Life Church with a clear conviction: that every believer can encounter Christ deeply, grow in spiritual maturity, and become a life-giving influence in their homes, communities, and workplaces. Under his shepherding, the church grew from a small gathering into a warm, multi-generational family marked by discipleship, genuine relationships, and a culture of prayer. His expository teaching—simple, profound, and rooted in Scripture—has guided many into a deeper understanding of God’s heart and a more authentic walk of faith.

Beyond pastoral ministry, Pastor James plays a significant role in Gatekeepers Singapore, a marketplace ministry dedicated to raising ambassadors of Christ in every sphere of society. Through Gatekeepers, he has been actively involved in equipping professionals, business leaders, public servants, and entrepreneurs to integrate biblical values with leadership, ethics, and strategic decision-making. His involvement reflects his long-standing belief that faith is not confined to the church, but is meant to shape the marketplace, influence culture, and bring transformation to the systems and structures of society.

Pastor James’ approach to marketplace ministry is deeply relational. He mentors leaders, provides spiritual counsel, and helps individuals discern their calling in the workplace. Many professionals value his insightfulness, grounded perspective, and ability to connect spiritual principles with real-world leadership challenges. His work within Gatekeepers has contributed to building a community of leaders who seek to live out Kingdom values with excellence, integrity, and purpose.

A shepherd at heart, Pastor James continues to invest heavily in pastoral care—walking with individuals through major life transitions, strengthening families, and nurturing young adults. He has been especially committed to raising emerging leaders, both within Bread of Life Church and the wider Christian community.

Through his decades of faithful service, Pastor James Lee has become a spiritual father to many. His influence extends across both church and marketplace, shaping lives, strengthening organisations, and inspiring leaders to embody Christlike character in every domain of society. His legacy is marked not only by the growth of Bread of Life Church, but also by the many who have been empowered to live purposefully and lead courageously through his ministry
